Eph. 2:14-18 The Ceremonial Laws Fulfilled.

The peace that comes from redemptive grace is more than an individual experience. Paul would have us look to the whole of society together, there no longer being a wall of partition separating Jews and Gentiles, “having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances.” (vv. 14-15a) It is clear that Paul is referring to the ceremonial law, having already indicating such in verse 11 with the barrier of circumcision  removed. It is a communal peace of one body, creating “in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace.” (v. 15b) Reconciliation goes beyond the individual to include the whole community of faith (v. 16). This same message has come to those far and near (v. 17). It is a peace of the one God in three persons community, that we in his image mirror, for we all “haveaccess by one Spirit to the Father.” (v. 18)
