Jeremiah 16:13-21 Restoration Of A Remnant Of Jew and Gentile Together.
Those who did not perish in the land would go into captivity, and from these a remnant would eventually return, through whom the promises of the covenant might be fulfilled (vv. 13-15). The captivity would also expose the nation to fishers and hunters, until the LORD exhausted his judgment on their iniquity, for they had defiled his land (vv. 16-18). At that time the Gentiles would also come with the remnant, “from the ends of the earth,” repenting of the idolatrous lies and practices of their forefathers (vv. 19-20). Then they would together know God in a personal covenantal relationship, that His name is the LORD (v. 21).
