Malachi 3:8-15 Robbing God, And Harsh Words.
The whole nation was also “cursed with a curse,” because they had also robbed God by not tithing as He had commanded (vv. 8-9 Cf. Neh. 13:10-12), and yet if they would obey in this respect, then the LORD promised to bless them with abundance (vv. 10-11 Cf. Gen. 7:11; I Chr. 26:20; II Chr. 31:10; Prov. 3:9-10; Amos 4:9), and the nations would call them blessed (v. 12). Instead, they complained that there was no profit in keeping His ordinances, which they wrongly believed that they had kept (vv. 13-14 Cf. 2:17; Job 21:14). They called the proud blessed, and believed that the wicked could even tempt God and go free (v. 15 Cf. Pss. 73:12; 95:9).
