Habakkuk 3 The Prophet’s Prayer And A Hymn Of Faith.
Habakkuk’s questions got answered, and his prayer and hymn of praise here is his response. He did not question the justice of God’s judgment, but he also pled for revival based on mercy (vv. 1-2). The judgment that came indeed revealed His glory, as did the praise that followed, and “His ways are everlasting” (v. 6). His judgment also shook the earth, as He went forth for the salvation of His people, with His Anointed, that is His Messiah (vv. 7-13). To this end He also shook the nations (vv. 14-16). Finally, despite what Habakkuk acknowledged, and the loss that would come of life and prosperity, he would nevertheless, “rejoice in the LORD,” and “joy in the God of” his “salvation (v. 18). In the end, Habakkuk could say, “The LORD God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills” (v. 19).
